The Conservatives gave up and Lost

February 7, 2008 / by politicalpiddle

First of All, Republicans are crazy to Nominate John McCain as a
run for President. Many conservatives say they won't vote for him
whatsoever!! So My view is Mitt Romney is  the better choice for nomination because
he is the better logical choice. So Mitt Romney throws in the towel.  McCain is very much a loose
cannon and we don't need a loose cannon as Commander in Chief.

He is for giving Illegal Immigrants free citizenship in the United
States. He voted against the Bush tax cuts. Not to Mention being against
Water boarding.

McCain is too much of a Liberal and has worked too closely with

Democrats on hot-topic issues, such as immigration, to gather

the absolute support of the Republican Party.

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) was close to leaving the Republican Party
in 2001, weeks before then-Sen. Jim Jeffords (Vt.) famously announced
his decision to become an Independent, The Hill newspaper reported

Here is something interesting... Former Mexican Statesman Joins
McCain Camp
http://www.cnsnews.com/ViewPolitics.asp?Page=/Politics/archive/200801/POL20080131b.html Now why is that?
Could it be that He was for Ammesty

"Juan Hernandez, the man who served in Vicente Fox's cabinet when the
latter was president of Mexico, is now advising Sen. John McCain (R-
Ariz.) on reaching out to Hispanics during his presidential bid"

Well, his vote against a resolution allowing President Reagan to keep
U.S. Marines deployed as part of the Multinational Force in Lebanon,
on the grounds that he "[did] not foresee obtainable objectives in
Lebanon. And what about the the Keating Five scandal of the 1980s

The Dems are going to Crush McCain during the Summer months with
this.. Watch and see. It caught the eye of federal regulators who
were looking to shut it down. It is alleged that Keating contacted
five senators to whom he made contributions. McCain was one of those
senators and he met at least twice in 1987 with Ed Gray.

Federal regulators ultimately filed a $1.1 billion civil racketeering
and fraud suit against Keating

The five senators came under investigation for attempting to
influence the regulators. In the end, none of the senators were
convicted of any crime, although McCain was rebuked by the Senate
Ethics Committee for exercising "poor judgment.

Starting in the year 1994 he worked with Democratic Wisconsin
Senator Russ Feingold on campaign finance reform; their McCain-
Feingold bill would attempt to put limits on "soft money", funds that
corporations, unions, and other organizations could donate to
political parties.

Then in May 2001, McCain voted against the Economic Growth and Tax
Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001, After the September 11, 2001
attacks, McCain became a supporter of Bush and an advocate for strong
military measures. That says a whole lot.

In May 2003, McCain voted against the Jobs and Growth Tax Relief
Reconciliation Act of 2003

Yes, republicans are nominating John McCain; but, conservatives are not !!!! Conservatives did not have a real candidate, Ron Paul was the nearest, except for his Iraq stand of not protecting the troops already over there!!!!!

As a conservative to the enth degree, I have stated that I would NEVER vote for "Juan" McCain. Now I may be reaching for the salt and pepper to help me eat my words. Honestly, I don't know what do to with this one. I know one thing, this is gonna leave a very bad taste in my mouth for the Republican party if I DO wind up feeling like I HAVE to vote for him. I'm sick about the whole mess.Undecided........nice to meet you politicalpiddle, I'll put you on my BL and check back to see your future piddleings....Smile
